Today we bring you a 2016 Interpretations of Music: Lessons for Life class on Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 4 in D Major, featuring violinist Greta Myatieva and pianist Dina Vainshtein...
Maestro Zander coaches Greta, who was a member of the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra at the time, on the "discipline" of communicating the joy of Mozart's music: "When it gets difficult...have fun with the difficulty...Really enjoy the fact that you play so well and you have so much to offer people."
We also bring you an exquisite four-minute performance by Alessandro Deljavan of Chopin's Mazurka Op 17 No. 4, played as an encore after one of his performances with the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra in 2019. He dedicated this rendition to Maestro Zander, who had specifically requested that he play this piece as one of his encores.
We send our warmest wishes to you and your loved ones. Happy listening!
