Cellist Leland Ko was a member of the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (BPYO) from its founding in 2012 until he graduated high school in 2016. He has since completed a degree in German Literature at Princeton University, and was just named as one of 10 finalists in the highly competitive Young Concert Artists (YCA) International Auditions.

We are thrilled to share with you a six-minute video of his performance of Dvorak's Silent Woods at the 2016 Granada Festival, during BPYO's tour of Spain. You can watch the livestream of his YCA final round audition this Sunday, November 8 at 10:35 AM on the YCA Youtube channel

From our Interpretation Class archives, we bring you a video of the beautiful second movement of Mozart's Clarinet Concerto, performed by Luz Elena Sarmiento with pianist Dina Vainshtein. Maestro Zander illustrates what he calls the grammar of music, the importance of shaping each note and bar with an awareness of its role in the larger musical structure.
