Dear BPO family members and Friends:
It is immensely gratifying that the enthusiasm that we all feel for the BPO has been expressed publicly and so eloquently by The Boston Globe. The recognition from a very experienced critic and passionate Mahlerian that the BPO is really a world-class orchestra, “even though it isn't supposed to be”, is especially pleasing. If you have not already done so, please read the review of the latest BPO concert:
Next Sunday the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra will perform Mahler’s Sixth in Symphony Hall at 3pm. Here is my blog about the extraordinary experience that these young musicians are having playing that very great and shattering work.
Would you consider to send it on to your friends or post it on your Facebook page? There are still many empty seats. Everybody who was at Symphony Hall last Friday knows what a thrill it is to experience this music in a concert hall that is packed to the rafters. Let’s try to make that happen for our amazing youth orchestra too.
Thank you for helping to make this such a glorious season and warmest wishes to all of you for a beautiful Spring.
