This Week's Musical Gems: Hindemith & Larsson

Written by BPO Staff | Jan 23, 2021 3:25:03 AM

We have two videos from the February 2017 Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra concert to share with you this week.

The first is a performance of the second and third movements of Lars-Erik Larsson's Concertino for Trombone and String Orchestra, featuring soloist Matthew Ethier, who was an undergraduate at the time, and one of the winners of BPYO's concerto competition.

The second is a performance of Paul Hindemith's Symphonic Metamorphosis of Themes by Carl Maria von Weber, composed of four short movements, each with a distinct character.

We send our warmest wishes to you and your loved ones this weekend.
