This Week's Musical Gems: Haydn & Beethoven

Written by BPO Staff | Oct 23, 2020 11:53:21 PM

We are delighted to share with you a recently-released video by Boston Philharmonic Orchestra concertmaster Joanna Kurkowicz and pianist Doris Stevenson.

They performed two Beethoven sonatas to an empty recital hall at Williams College, in celebration of the 250th anniversary of Beethoven's birth.

We also bring you a video of Maestro Zander coaching the Avanti String Quartet in the first movement of a Haydn String Quartet during his visit to Oakville last year. Maestro Zander encourages, "Make it still more beautiful - every note sings...Play as if you love it!"
